BUSINESS GATEWAY

From April 2009, Highland Opportunity Limited (HOL) began delivering the business support services of the national Business Gateway in the Highland and Moray regions of Scotland. This service will integrate with HOL’s existing business support services to provide a comprehensive package of advice, training, direction, European connections and access to finance for local small businesses who wish to start up and grow. Existing businesses of scale and those with high growth potential will be identified and directed towards specialist account managers within HIE to help them fulfil their business strategies. Young entrepreneurs will be able to apply for advice and financial assistance to start a business through the Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust.

Business Gateway has operated in the south of Scotland for several years now and has been widely regarded as a successful driver of local enterprise.

Business advisers and training workshops will be available throughout the Highlands and Moray and there is a central co-ordinating Business Gateway shop at 81 Castle Street, Inverness where people can walk in and talk. In Moray, a walk-in Business Gateway shop is located at 17 High Street Elgin.

Online services are available at www.bgateway.com and these will evolve and reflect the needs of Highland businesses.
